Brilliant.
Some of my faves:
* drifting up from a great dream
* my dog Coco’s absolute delight that once again I’ve made it through the night and am the centre of her universe
* slowly waking to the sound of torrential downpour …and knowing I can stay in bed all day
And one of the worst awakenings was at 4am in the morning by a taxi driver to take me to the airport. I had crashed into bed at 2am after a great dinner and wines with fab friends. Door bell rings … I awake … answer the door …and have about 8 minutes to get dressed and in the cab and to the airport.
Many many many hours later [after nightmare lines in the airport and hour long wait on the tarmac] hungover and dehydrated I got to my studio apartment.
Lay down for a nap and was woken by the sound of bands and music … went outside and there along the Boulevard St Germain was the best Gay Pride parade I’d ever seen.
That was the trip to Paris or the Sakai conference where I met you.
